Type of Cuisine: Italian through and through…

Where did you have it: We picked up two 1.5 inch Ribsteaks (traditionally should be T-Bone sirloin and filet from beef typically from the region of Tuscany) however in our case from a local Butcher counter in Little Italy…brought the meat up north to a cottage for the first of two main meals which were E.P.I.C….basically all I did was sear the outsides….and let the meat rest in the oven at 250 for 10-15 mins….that’s all….then we seasoned it with chopped garlic, dried oregano and olive oil…and just a touch of sea salt….the only thing it was missing was a sharp knife… :\ to slice the steak thinner….but we made due with thicker pieces.

How much?: Two steaks were $60, so $30 a piece…absolutely worth every penny, even though it’s not the cheapest home made meal, from time to time…it’s sure worth it… 1 steak is good for 3-4 people maximum, we had 2 steaks for 5 people and we had leftovers…would have been perfect for 6 but were down 1 man…

Rate it 1 to 10 : This was my first time making it, I think it was a pretty solid 8 out of 10…not to toot my own horn…but more so because of the quality of the meat….when you’re working with ingredients of high quality it’s hard to screw up a meal.

  1. fillet knife reviews September 8, 2012 at 6:21 am -

A while ago I purchased a knife set which contained a fillet knife but always found it difficult to fillet a fish. I tend to take the better quality fillet knife that my hubby takes on fishing outings and find it much simpler dealing with fish.
