Open Faced Bacon & Cheese Sandwich
History: I don`t know…I think I invented it but then again…it`s just bacon and cheese…I’ve been eating it since my early teens maybe even before that…then through a series of fortunate…or unfortunate events it became my favorite hangover food…I can go for one right now…gotta finish this post though…:S
Why it’s awesome: It has bacon and melted cheese man!
Ingredients & Portions:
Seriously this one ain`t rocket science…a monkey with a hangover could prepare this…and then sober up…
Servings: As much bread as your bacon and cheese can cover
Cook time & Directions:
Basically you cook and strain your bacon to remove whatever fat has liquefied. Then you toast some bread (baguette, loaf, toast bread….whatever) I used to use strictly toast bread. Then you assemble….add your bacon usually 3 slices to cover the toasted bread…then some cheese….then pop it into the toaster oven, oven…or worst case microwave (but it`s gonna get soggy you say?) that’s part of the charm for me. When you’re hungover the last thing you need is something over toasted and dry…am I right?
When the bacon & cheese toast pops out of the oven or microwave you can eat it with a knife and fork or if you’re like me you just fold that sucker in half and devour it…it never even had a chance
