The collapsible salad spinner is a recent addition to our kitchen. Like a lot of other kitchen gadgets, it’s probably not an essential element, but there’s something fun in being able to spin water off the lettuce, like we’re part of some sort of industrial process. Most of the time I hum this song while I’m working it:
We’ve talked about salad spinners in the past, but these kick it up a notch. We actually have this version of the collapsible salad spinner, which spins your salad after you pull on a string. It’s like some sort of demented children’s toy. This is how Bed, Bath and Beyond describes it: “Its high velocity pull-cord mechanism dries your fruits or veggies quickly and efficiently.” Why wouldn’t you want a kitchen gadget that has a high velocity pull-cord mechanism? Of course you want one.
I like it, plus having an easy to store collapsible serving bowl is a bonus. Everything is dishwasher safe, by the way, and the basket and bowl measure 11 1/2″ in diameter.
