What is Amedei?
Amadei is a Tuscan chocolate company that does not cut corners. If they want cacao, they go get it in a Venezuelan region called Chuao, which is said to produce the best in the world. Their chocolate bars win awards and they are priced accordingly. One in particular, the Amedei Porcelana, is known as the world’s most expensive chocolate and is considered the champagne of its category.
What does Amedei Chocolate Cream taste like?
The obvious point of comparison is Nutella, but the two feel like very different products. The Amedei cream is made from a minimum 50% of high quality hazelnuts, and you can smell this right from the moment you open the bottle. It’s an aromatic sensation that you just don’t get from Nutella. In fact, just putting your nose to it, you can sense how rich it is, and you would be right. Slightly thicker than other hazelnut/chocolate spreads I’ve eaten before, the Amedei chocolate cream also has a much more complex flavor to it, mixing a robust dark chocolate taste with cane sugar sweetness. No one would ever really consider these kinds of spreads “healthy”, but this chocolate cream feels downright decadent. It’s badass and it doesn’t care what you think. I love it.
How much does Amadei Chocolate Cream cost?
Roughly 11 euros in most online stores, which definitely makes it a luxury item. Still, fans of hazelnut spreads should feel confident plucking down this kind of cash. This is the real deal.
